Be Part of Our Future

Dear Friends,

We write to you with great excitement for the future of Kehilat Romemu.

We recently celebrated our two year anniversary on this amazing journey inspired and led by Rabbi David Ingber (read a letter from David here). With transformative teachings, prayer and meditation we are together beginning to establish the roots of our creative, joyous and inclusive spiritual community.

This past January many of us in the community overwhelmingly voiced our readiness to move from being a part time to a full time congregation. Since then, members of the community have been working tirelessly to begin creating the organization necessary to support this growth. We are proud to share with you the many exciting plans for the forthcoming year.

In September we intend to offer weekly Shabbat services and provide a transformative High Holiday experience to immerse the soul in the deep spiritual practices of healing and renewal. We also have plans for many innovative education, life cycle and outreach programs.

With these wonderful developments comes great responsibility - so we now turn to you for our 2008/2009 Membership drive. We look to your support to strengthen and build a more permanent home for Kehilat Romemu in New York City. Our membership policy is simple: Our doors are open to all who want to share in this heart-centered practice.

Please consider being a “Trustee” of the community, entrusted to sustain the deep roots and solid foundation of our future. We ask that you stretch your financial commitment to a place that represents for you a significant and meaningful investment in your spiritual future and our Jewish community. We suggest a level that represents at least 1-2% of your gross household income. If you are already a member we ask that you renew your commitment. If you are a friend, regular guest or just love the vision that Rabbi Ingber and our community embraces then we ask that you become a “trustee”.

As we celebrate Passover, we remember the great challenges, uncertainty, and miracles that our ancestors experienced in their exodus from Mitzraim and the great opportunity that freedom brings. During the 49 day period from Passover to Shavuot, we ask you to commit to another year of this holy work.

Please join us and renew or become a member today. Our future is dependent on you. Please click here for more information and to sign up online.

With love and gratitude,

Nigel Austin
