Lauren Ahava Jacobs

Romemu Member and Co-Chair of Social Action

Lauren is pictured here with her co-chair of the Romemu Social Action Committee.

I came to Romemu almost a decade ago seeking a Jewish spiritual home fueled by ruach (spirit), simcha (joy), & kehila (community). Since then, I’ve joined this mission in several ways – teaching in our Shabbat Seekers Program for seven years; participating in Larry Schwartz’ Jewish Mindfulness class & Eleanor H. Bregman’s Interfaith Strangers No More group;  performing in the Purim Shpiel; coordinating chesed support; offering Yom Kippur Walking Meditation; co-chairing the Social Action Committee; co-leading the Community Kitchen; and gathering for ritual, prayer & celebration. I “return again” because my trust, strength & voice are continually awakened by the power of spiritual uplift in community.
