Teen Program
This year, Romemu is introducing a new Teen Program for post B Mitzvah teens! The program has five elements in which teens will learn, have fun, develop leadership skills, hone their critical thinking skills, and build community.
Program Elements
Madrichim
Teens will have the opportunity once a month to choose between three Shabbat volunteer options within the Romemu community. The options include working with the Seekers, helping at Sha’baby, or greeting congregants in the sanctuary ahead of services.
Kef
Five times this school year, teens will get to do a fun activity with other teens from Romemu and occasionally with teens from other local communities. Activities include bowling, murder mystery, ice skating, ice cream making, and going to a baseball game.
Social Justice Trip
Teens will have the opportunity to go on a 4-5 day social justice trip to Oregon, Pennsylvania, California, Arizona, Tennessee, Alabama, Atlanta, Mexico, or Guatemala to learn about sustainability, immigration justice, and/or civil rights history.
B Mitzvah Buddies
Teens who have had their B Mitzvah at Romemu will get paired with current B Mitzvah students to meet a few times to mentor and support them through their journey.
Learning and Food
Teens will have the opportunity to sit down with clergy members to learn, eat, and build community.
Registration and Cost
The Romemu Teen program as a whole does not require enrollment or tuition, but each individual event may have its own requirements.
