ROMEMU+THE MOTH=ROME’MOTH
Friday November 6th Following Kabbalat Shabbat Services, in the SoHo Room
And the sound we make together/is the music to the story in your eyes/It’s been shining down upon you now/I realize.
The Moody Blues had it right when they noted that there are stories in our eyes.
Introducing Rome’moth, the perfect marriage between Romemu and the iconic public storytelling project, The Moth. A portal for sharing the stories in our eyes… and our hearts.
It’s a simple formula: Pick a theme. Prepare a true-life story of not more than five minutes. Get picked. Present.
For Rome’moth which will take place in the course of a cafe-style dinner on Friday night, November 6th after Shabbat services, we have picked the compelling theme of “Chutzpah: You did WHAT????“
Prepare your Chutzpah: You did WHAT???? story and then send a snippet in an audio or video file of not more than 90 seconds to shira.dicker@sd-media.com. Captivate us with your personal take on this topic. It can be funny. It can be serious. It can be irreverent. It can be linear or experimental. But it needs to be true. And it needs to speak to us.
We will be picking EIGHT storytellers. The other entries will go into our Rome’moth story on-line archive.
Deadline for submissions is October 18th, 2026
