Weddings
Mazal Tov to you and your beloved; on this sacred step toward your wedding day! Romemu Brooklyn is honored to be part of this joyous journey.
We are available to perform weddings in the greater NYC Metro area. Yes, we welcome interfaith couples!
Your Jewish wedding will be an experience of shared meaning-making, supported by sacred structures. Your ceremony will be rooted in ritual and reflective of your one-of-a-kind relationship, incorporating symbols, song, space, and speech. A celebration of the waltz between oneness and twoness that you have chosen to dance together.
Baby Namings
Mazal tov! Please reach out to us to speak about welcoming your baby in the midst of our spiritual community. Romemu Brooklyn baby namings happen at Shabbat morning services OR in your chosen venue/home.
What is a baby naming? In the Jewish tradition, a shem tov, or a good name, is an essential and core spiritual value. One of the first acts the Torah records the first mythic human, Adam, undertaking, is the naming of each and every animal. We believe that names we are given can often be descriptive and prescriptive, describing an essence and prescribing a latent potential that awaits our future manifestation. We can also change or add to our given names. We can be more than what others saw in us. We can override our given names. And, we hope our names capture who we are accurately. We hope our names describe our essence, our soul-pattern and invite us to live it fully, audaciously, outrageously…for the world’s sake. For G-d’s sake.
Funerals
If you have lost a loved one, we wish you from comfort from Above; may you know no more sorrow.
Please reach out to us immediately so that we can support and hold you and your family. We can help with funerals and shiva, and are also here with a compassionate ear.
Conversions
Conversion requires a number of seemingly overwhelming steps, but rest assured that Romemu clergy will be with you every step of the way to ensure that you have everything you need to enter the Jewish covenant with love and community. It’s important to remember that each step in the conversion process is tailored to the individual and their experience; as such, no two conversions will be identical.
