Romemu Global
Who are we?
Even before the pandemic, I had been frequently attending online Shabbat services. Now with the expansion of online activity, I have been able to widen and deepen my participation. I so appreciate the spiritually, emotionally and intellectually inspiring levels of teaching and leadership of the Rabbinic and davening team and participation of community members.
The Romemu Global community includes members from across the country and around the world. More than online services, Romemu Global members pray, learn, and connect in community.
Like our local communities, Romemu Global is a progressive, fully egalitarian Jewish community of people from all walks of life.
Romemu Global offers daily, weekly, and holiday services, adult education, youth and family programs, and more – all available online from wherever you are.
If you are seeking:
- A welcoming home where people of all genders, ages, abilities and life stages participate equally and fully in song, dance, learning, and praying
- An oasis in time and space where you can focus on your heart and catch your breath
- A center dedicated to a Yiddishkeit — Judaism — that opens body, heart, mind and spirit to experience greater compassion, courage, and joy in our lives
- A community where you can connect with other seekers on a spiritual journey to deepen their connection to Judaism and increase compassion in our world

Romemu first started live streaming services in 2012. Responding to interest from people in diverse geographic locations for greater engagement, we started offering digital membership in 2017.
When the COVID 19 pandemic arrived in NY, Romemu was one of the first synagogues in America to make the switch from onsite to online services. Within the first weeks of the pandemic people from across the country and around the world were connecting on Zoom for Romemu services, classes, and more.
Our digital membership rapidly expanded from a few dozen to hundreds.
