Hasbara on LinkedIn

Our mission is to use LinkedIn to explain the realities of Israel to a global audience, including top decision-makers. We ask you to join our “Hasbara on LinkedIn” WhatsApp group, one of five parallel groups. (The other four are oriented to Hebrew-speaking Israelis.  Each time a group nears 1000 members, our admins open an additional group.)
WHY LinkedIn?
LinkedIn’s network of over one billion members provides an unparalleled platform to make a significant impact.  The effect of thousands commenting  on a post favorably and movingly is to stimulate virality.  During the past three months, our posts have achieved over 11,000,000 views and 260,00 responses.  If you join our effort, our posts will reach even more people world-wide.
OUR ROLE
Each day, our curators post 2-3 times/day.  We write short comments to their posts.
SAFETY FIRST
Please click the link below only if you have a LinkedIn profile. Then, one of our admins will contact you, examine your profile, and invite you to connect on LinkedIn. (This step protects all of us from the bad things that can happen on the Internet.)
WE NEED YOU
Without volunteers from abroad, our posts tend to stay mostly within Israel. Here’s the link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Hgy7JspTRMyBumHWenD3sd  At this crucial time in Israel’s history, you can make a difference. Please join our effort.

Donate Through UJA

UJA-Federation of New York has launched an Israel Emergency Fund to offer the crucial support that will be needed in the days and weeks to come. Access here.
Message From UJA

  • Supplies to Israel: Many of you have asked about how to donate supplies to Israelis and the IDF. Our partners in Israel tell us that there is not a problem with getting supplies to individuals or to the army.  Most supplies can be purchased in Israel and the greatest need is for funding and mobilization of supplies. The best action people can take right now is to donate to our Israel at War Fund.

Donate to Hospitals

The hospitals are overwhelmed trying to attend to all those who are injured. They need our help. Project Rozana is an organization without much overhead and with a long standing relationship of direct contact with the hospitals in Israel. All of the proceeds raised will go directly to the hospitals in dire need. Donate here.

Ensure We May Continue to Gather Safely | Volunteer to Help with Security at Romemu
As Rabbi Ingber stated in an article in the Wall Street Journal shortly after the War began, “Our number one responsibility is to protect our people at this moment.” (If you have a subscription to the Wall Street Journal, you can read the article here.) Sadly, the need for increased security is unlikely to diminish anytime soon.

We are seeking to expand our security volunteer team in 2 ways:

  1. Anyone available to help on upcoming Shabbatot with increased security measures. If you plan to be at services in the coming weeks and are willing to help (no advanced training required), please contact Executive Director, Jeffrey Cahn at jeff@romemu.org
  2. Anyone with professional experience in security or military or has had any type of advanced security training such as that offered through Community Security Services. please contact Executive Director, Jeffrey Cahn at jeff@romemu.org to support our ongoing security initiatives.

Podcast with Rabbi Ingber on coping with Trauma and Grief

After the Attack on Israel … Dealing with our Shock, Grief and Loss
As we absorb the atrocities and losses coming out of the unspeakable terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7th, how do we deal with our tremendous individual and community shock, trauma and grief … both at this moment and in the long term? Rabbi David Ingber, Senior Director for Jewish Life at 92Y, Founding Rabbi at Romemu and a leader in the New York Jewish community, validates what we are feeling and offers perspective on processing it. He speaks with Exit Strategy Host Stephanie Garry.

The Blue Dove Foundation has compiled wellness resources here to help manage the complex emotions many of us are feeling now.

It can be especially challenging to help our children cope with the situation. Family & Children’s Services has collated resources here on how to approach this conversation with your child, based on their age and level of interest.
