What?! No Kol Nidre Appeal???

What?! No Kol Nidre Appeal???

Please Give to the High Holy Day Fund Now

In an experiment to help Shamor the sacred energy of the service, this year we will not be making a fundraising appeal during Kol Nidre. It doesn’t mean the High Holy Day fund is any less important — we count on your generosity during the Holy Days to help keep Romemu soaring all year long. We listened to your feedback, and decided to try it this way instead. Please consider making a Kol Nidre gift now, before we enter the sacred space of the Holy Days, and have one less thing to contemplate (or ask forgiveness for!) on Yom Kippur.

Lifelong Learning Courses

Lifelong Learning Courses

Scholars often compare the Torah to a well and its words to water—drawn from a deep place, this water can refresh and sustain all who seek it.

Torah study at Romemu is central to our spiritual journey. The Well, our program of educational offerings, provides learning opportunities for seekers at every level.

Regardless of your education or religious background, our programs welcome newcomers while also deepening the knowledge and practice of all Jewish learners, guiding participants toward living with holiness in challenging times.

Chesed (lovingkindness) is an integral part of our community all year. The High Holy Days offer a special opportunity for chesed acts. Some of our members need help during the High Holy Days, whether that’s a ride, a walking partner, or a friendly greeter at the door. If you’ll be onsite and able to assist, register below.

Marianne Williamson and Rabbi David in Conversation: Finding Peace in a Fractured World

Marianne Williamson and 92NY’s Rabbi David Ingber in Conversation: Finding Peace in a Fractured World

September 29, 7:30 PM at 92NY, 1395 Lexington Ave, NYC, and Online

Marianne Williamson joins Rabbi David Ingber for a conversation about finding steadiness in difficult times and cultivating a worldview that allows us to hold both the pain of the world and the possibility of joy. They’ll explore how grief can deepen compassion, why healing a fractured world begins with the work we do within ourselves, and how practices of love, forgiveness and faith can help us stay present rather than overwhelmed. Williamson will also reflect on midlife as a moment of awakening: an invitation to set aside fear and focus on what matters for a life of greater purpose.

Jewish Recovery Fellowship: 12-Step

12 Step Romemu

Romemu is reopening our Jewish recovery fellowship for anyone seeking freedom from addiction of any kind.

What it is: An anonymous 12-step group following the traditions of AA, drawing on Jewish spiritual wisdom from Jewish 12-step recovery texts, Torah, Mussar teachings, and other Jewish wisdom throughout the ages.

Who it’s for: Anyone struggling with addiction—whether you’re at the beginning of your journey, have been sober for years, months, or are taking it one day at a time. Anyone supporting someone in recovery. Anyone seeking a Jewish perspective on the 12 steps. Jewish or not, you’re welcome.

We’re just starting: Email 12step@romemu.org to join our group and help build this community. We’re planning to meet in person once or several times monthly.
