Registration for Beit Midrash
Beit Midrash: Seeking Spiritual Sustenance in Tumultuous Times
In these times many of us yearn to touch something eternal, beyond our immediate circumstances, to help stabilize us as we try to walk on shifting ground. In this Beit Midrash series we will study accounts of how our ancestors in the Torah reached beyond themselves to touch something transcendent, and the manifold varieties of spiritual experiences that were borne from their seeking. We will also closely read accounts of God seeking human beings, reflecting upon the spiritual attunement that makes these encounters possible. Finally, we will explore how narratives of the spiritual journey shift radically in rabbinic literature, reflecting upon these differences and how they came about.

Hasidic Masters
Rebels for God: The Life and Torah of the Hasidic Masters
Hasidism, Judaism’s revival movement of 18th century eastern Europe mapped God beyond the cosmos onto the heart and the human psyche, sparking a spiritual explosion that continues to reverberate to this day. Rabbi David Ingber will guide students on a journey of subversive seeking with 8 teachers who shaped this maverick mystical movement. In our intimate virtual classroom, we will glean insights both timely and timeless. Romemu and 92NY invite you to connect with sacred text, one another, and the legacy of the Hasidic Masters.
