Shabbat and Holiday Services with Romemu Brooklyn
Romemu Brooklyn meets for Kabbalat Shabbat monthly all-year round and on Shabbat mornings monthly from September through June. We currently gather on the third floor of Luria Academy at 664 Bergen Street, Brooklyn.
We are blessed to be uplifted in musical prayer by Hazzan Basya Schechter each Friday we gather. For our Shabbat morning services, we are grateful to a small circle of talented davening leaders who take turns leading us: Hazzan Basya Schechter, Rabbi Annie Lewis, Rabbi Yosef Goldman, and Rabbinical Student Arielle Rivera Korman. We also have a circle of incredible musicians who elevate our prayer and voices, including percussionist Shai Wetzer, guitarist Avi Fox-Rosen, and guitarist Oren Neiman. Many members of our sacred community bring their gifts through poetry, leyning (chanting Torah), kavvanot (intentions), divrei Torah (words of Torah), and musicality (accompaniment, Community Choir, and Community Band). Also, Kohenet Stephanie Guedalia and Rabbi Juliet Elkind-Cruz graciously offer their support and teaching to our community.
